Momentum gathering as investments in entrepreneurship swell

Could it be a sign of the times, or a renewed expression of the long-recognized value in the American spirit of creativity and innovations? Across economic development organizations, workforce boards, and communities, we are seeing a fresh push for and focus on entrepreneurship and the growth of ideas into markets. Major universities are also focusing resources on equipping students with entrepreneurial skills, and connecting that investment to strategic growth for their regional economies and the markets they serve. Most recently, Penn State’s President announced an investment of $30m for entrepreneurship, with the intent of sparking commercializations, tech transfer, and start-up activity and success across STEM industries as well as arts, humanities, medicine, and more.
